Africa Adventures

Whether you are considering the “Big Five” or the most basic plainsgame safari, we can more than likely assist with your plans. Our company has over twenty five years’ experience on the African continent and we are committed to the quality of your entire safari experience. We work with several safari operators in South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Mozambique and Zambia who not only offer hunting opportunities for a variety of game species, but also fishing and photographic/touring safaris as well. Africa is the perfect destination for including a spouse or taking along family members. Daily rates for non-hunters begin as low as $150 per day.

Many safaris, especially plainsgame, can be booked on a package basis. These packages include daily rate and trophy fees that are normally discounted. However, packages don’t always fit the criteria of the desired safari and a hunt based on a daily rate with species taken on a trophy fee basis might be the way to go.

We have listed a description of each country along with daily rate price ranges and a sample of packages and safaris available.

South Africa

Over the past 30 years this country has exemplified plainsgame safari hunting and private game ranching. Here, along with Namibia, is where the majority of first-time safaris typically occur.  However, South Africa offers such a multitude of species available to the sportsman that several safaris are required in order to experience all the bounty that is has to offer. It is also the perfect destination to experience safari with a non-hunting spouse or children due to the many activities that can be arranged.

Mozambique

After a long and devastating civil war in the 80’s and 90’s, old “Portugese East Africa” is a country showing positive signs toward recovery and a bright future. Some excellent plainsgame hunting can be found in certain areas along with Hippo and Crocodile. Cape Buffalo numbers are steadily increasing and good trophy quality is available especially in the north and along the Zimbabwe border and Zambezi River. At present, it may be one of the best locations for Leopard and Sable and to a lesser degree Lion and Elephant.

Namibia

One of the most sparsely populated countries in Africa, Namibia is clean, safe and truly a sportsman’s paradise. With a very well regulated professional hunter association and positive government oversight, the country provides outstanding plainsgame hunting and albeit limited, very good opportunity for dangerous game as well. Non-hunters will stay busy with the many activities and sightseeing options available.

Tanzania

Still considered the premier destination for the “classic safari”, Tanzania offers a wide variety of plainsgame opportunities and a legitimate safari opportunity to hunt four of the “Big 5”. All hunting here is conducted on large government concessions allocated to private safari companies. Some of the best Cape Buffalo, Lion and Leopard hunting in Africa continues to be found here and for those that can afford it a 21 to 28 day safari is still the apex of african hunting. Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Zanzibar are some of the many attractions that should be considered as part of your itinerary when visiting here.

Zimbabwe

Once considered the jewel of Africa, this country unfortunately has undergone negative changes over the past 10 years. Plainsgame hunting here is only a shadow of what it once was; however, some bright spots remain and dangerous game hunting on government concessions and private conservancies remains strong. Elephant, Buffalo and Leopard populations continue to be solid and Zimbabwe should still be considered for these species. Victoria Falls, The Great Zimbabwe Ruins and other scenic wonders are a “must see” when visiting here.
